Divorce guidance and legal assistance remain available to you during COVID-19.

Across Oregon, our courts have closed and trials and hearings are postponed through mid-summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Multnomah County presiding court provided an update on April 2, 2020 over Zoom Online Conferencing and the attorneys in the county were advised to avoid court filings absent an emergency. We were also alerted to the Court’s concern that there will be a tsunami of cases that will impact the court system for months if the growing caseload is not mitigated through appropriate alternative dispute resolution now.

PCD professionals are well suited to help you address the increased challenges to conflict resolution brought about by COVID-19.  We remain open to serve the communities’ needs at a time when there is limited access to the court system via secure online meetings that comply with shelter-in-place requirements.  Our services range from temporary agreements, including how to address the unique problems brought by the pandemic, to complete divorce and modification agreements.

Each PCD professional is versed in how to use online meeting platforms.  Meetings will look and feel a little different, but we have the technology to share documents during meetings, break out into separate meeting rooms and most importantly, to continue communicating and working towards resolving important issues that impact your family.

Our commitment to alternative dispute resolution as the best process option to resolve conflict remains open, even though the courts are currently unavailable to address most family law matters.  It will be months before the Court system will be able to address your non-emergency legal needs.  PCD professionals can meet them now, so reach out today.
